The scope of services offered spans from slurry to solids sampling in the mining industry. The focus is on the entire quality measurement value chain. The primary objective of the designs is collection and analysis of representative samples.
Nature of the problem
According to Dr Francis F. Pitard,a large amount of sampling systems installed by engineering firms transgress the basic rules of sampling equiprobability. During his career, Dr Francis visited more than 120 facilities around the world and found as little as four sampling stations that were well designed.
Sampling system are typically found inadequate in industry because they require the attention of specialists who understand the complexity of a process and the limitations of human nature.People buying sampling systems are not necessarily aware of the most basic principles of sampling correctness, nor are the sales people advertising them.
As a result, incorrect sampling systems create variability that does not exist in the process. The design of sampling systems is greatly improved when attention is given to the notion of sampling correctness.
The design solutions offered will be based on applicable commodity ISO standards, the Theory of Sampling (TOS), best practices and client specific procedures.
